Dancing in the rain

This morning I was woken by the heavy rain lashing against the window.  The day of the Jubilee street parties - how typical.

It rained heavily all morning. Myself and a fellow folk musician were due to play at the village picnic in the castle. I checked with the organiser and it was still on - we were told to wear boots.

We played two half hour slots under a gazebo with the picnicers under cover by the castle tea room. They played some music while we were setting up and my granddaughter I ignored the rain to dance in front of us as in the blip. Bob the builder was the tune hence the actions.

Our picnic was eaten in the car as all the official places were taken. We did our two spots and it seemed to go down well, in fact we had two encores which was good.  They wanted to book us for the village fete but I am booked at Shrewsbury FolkFestival that day.

There was an open air performance of Midsummer Night's Dream in the castle tonight.  It would have been another soggy event!
