Music Time

3years 182 days - 3 1/2

Another busy but fab day. Katie decided to start it at 4.45. One of the few mornings we could have a really steady start. She often wakes early at Grandad's house though. Excitement I think. Anyway, we did manage to potter in our room until almost 7. Yes early mornings sponsored by Apple do take place occasionally in our house to enable Mummy to fully function for the whole day! We had a play and leisurely breakfast with Granny and Grandad before taking Mummy to work photographing a Christening. Katie went with Granny and Grandad to the Sunday Market. She ate a giant sausage roll, got bought a Dora the Explorer doll, ate a lot of grapes and some strawberries. All of this was on the promise of a bouncy castle if she was good. When they got to it though, she wouldnt go on because there were big kids. She told me later "all the big childrens would bounce me off and make me fall down". Fair enough, my dear girl!

After the market, they picked me up and took us both to the Christening reception/the 3rd birthday party of the baby's big brother. Katie was a little star. She let me do the photos as and when I needed to but enjoyed Mummy time in between. She played beautifully with Euan again. At food time she sat at the table with all the other children even though she only knew Euan. It was then Music Time with Kathy. When Katie was teeny weeny, she went to music time sessions for babies that Kathy runs. Katie adored them then. She would stare transfixed at her as Kathy played the flute to her. Today Katie had the same look on her face when Kathy played the piccolo and saxophone. They did lots of games. Katie and Euan were in hysterics laughing together under a piece of fabric that was being waved over them. They did pass the parcel and lots of shakers and drums. A huge success.

We managed to fit a quick trip to the coffee shop for a spot of afternoon tea before we went for our train. Katie and I got to try out Erna for the first time going to and waiting for the train. The party bag contents occupied her for the entire journey home (it was a goooood party bag) before a quick snuggle in Erna again to go for the taxi home. She flagged in the taxi but got her second wind when we got home. I am not sure it will last long as we're both shattered!
