Chestnut mill

A walk from the hotel today (with stop for coffee of course) through the village, over the river and a loop steeply up and down the lower slopes of the mountain we could see from our room (or from the village, see extra).
It was hot and airless so any shade was welcome and we lingered a bit in the shady areas round this mill. Chestnut forests are common in Corsica and flour from the nuts was a staple.
There were good views across to the village and plenty of flowers - also a chance to dip our feet in the river. Nobody did more than that it was colder than the other day. We also had a few spots of rain which were very pleasant, and dark clouds seen from the bar - as in the extra.
A bit of time to relax in a shady space after, I was in the sitting area of the hotel where I found an old copy of Scottish Paddler and an RNLI magazine!
Delicious fish in lemon sauce for dinner.
