Cheery blossom

This tree grows outside my mum's house, and puts on a decadent display once a year. It's a bit like it spends the preceding few weeks straining until it's red in the face and then all of a sudden it becomes heavy with pink blossoms. They don't last long once they're up, but for a short time, it's pretty spectacular and/or spectacularly pretty.

After which, all the petals drop onto the cars parked below and start corroding off the paintwork if they're allowed to rot there. Fun.

Anyway, as mum looks like she might be putting the house on the market this year, there's the vague chance that this is the last time we'll see the tree blossom, which is a sad thought if you dwell on it, but shouldn't distract from how vivid and beautiful the tree is when it gives it all it has.
