Calling wolf

I came across Ava, - half wolf half husky -walking in the Old Kirk graveyard underneath Stirling castle.

Her owner, Amanda says this hybrid is an established breed, and she will be breeding from her.

As for the Old Kirk graveyard, which goes back to 1579, it's no ordinary burial ground.

The famous poet William Wordsworth was so moved by it that he wrote 'We know of no sweeter cemetery in all of our wanderings than that of Stirling.'

Meanwhile it was a case of pure serendipity for me because I have been asked to do an outdoor sound installation next month in the garden of the Smith museum and I will be using recordings of wolves - now Amanda has offered to bring along Ava and some of her wolf friends too for the evening on Friday May 3- a pop-up art event organised by Creative Stirling.
