Tiny Tuesday. : : Lobelia

Our plans to look at mattresses were scuttled when John woke up with a nasty cold. Covid negative so far but I'll have him test again because he went back to bed and slept for three hours! Self administering the test resulted in paroxysms  of sneezing and gagging. He's rallied after his nap and is now outside hand watering everything as another heat wave is on the horizon.

Other than going to physical therapy this morning to get myself put back together, I've done very little other than help John change a lot of our ceiling lights to LED bulbs. There are 50 or 60 of them in the house all recessed in the ceiling, so we just did a few in each room to see how they feel when it's dark. Even lightbulbs aren't simple anymore. Nothing is standardized and the lightbulbs come in a range from warm to cool light, but it doesn't seem to say anywhere on the box which one is inside....The ones we got look a bit like the inside of an operating room. Most of our switches have a dimmer.

Of all the things we have that use energy, John seems to have a fixation about leaving lights on. He's been known to plunge me into darkness when he turns off all the lights, inside and out, when there is nobody in the room. My fixation is keeping the doors closed to keep the house cool and keep the bugs out. Closing doors or drawers or cupboards or even the garage door do not seem to be important, especially if he can say he was 'coming back' ....

I'm going to Peter's graduation from UC Santa Barbara this weekend. I hope that plan won't have to be scuttled....
