The Woodland Garden (Monday 6th June 2022)

I was very surprised to see a whole family of wrens outside over breakfast on this morning. I first saw a chick on the outbuilding roof, and then a parent came over to feed it. Both flew over into the garden and were joined by the other parent and a further two chicks, who all explored my front yard. One of them even landed on the arm of a chair outside my front door. I spent quite some time watching them and got several shots (some of them very blurry, through glass) to put in the Woodland Garden album, but only of the chicks, as the adults were busy flying to and fro collecting food and tended to be behind shrubbery. Assuming the chicks had recently fledged they would be approximately three weeks old or less.

Several other birds came to the feeders including a dunnock, a pair of goldfinches and great tits and blue tits.

I was at C's in Trowbridge during the afternoon and had two brief photo sessions with Loki, both of just a couple of minutes (see Extras), for which he seemed to enjoy posing. I also took a few pictures in her garden, included in the album below, and saw a further episode of The Walking Dead.
