Photographic Poeticisms

Spring Stars

Spring stars alight on each blackthorn branch
When sunlight might catch petal perchance
Memories stir with each vibrant cue
Of wooded walks admiring nought but the view
Where nature's beauty alone had us trapped
And only words we spoke were those of rapt
Each sound that passed our smitten ears
Was of such beauty that brought us to tears
From bird and wind each note was wrest
And brought a tightness to our chest
For in those sounds we could ourselves lose
Or acknowledge a pleasure shared, should we choose

But now should we be fools and into woods venture
The constant sound of music does ensure
That nature far to the back is fast driven
And pleasure now is shrunk and shriven
For headphones and speakers do abound
And no matter whether or not you like the sound
It's there with such a constant, incessant force
That in truth you have but one possible recourse
And that is to run and hide with four walls
Until finally with night time, silence falls
And then you might, with alacrity, perchance
Catch the stars upon the blackthorn branch
