St Blaise of Haccombe

Walking in deepest Devon today near Combe in Teignhead. We started and finished at the Combe Cellars pub on the river Teign. The photo is typical of this locale - the tiny church of St Blaise, with only the graves of the Carews who owned the nearby Haccombe Manor, a post box, and a bench. On the way through old lanes and Hamlets we stopped for a drink and a sit down on the stone memorial seat, and I tidied up the war memorial plaque, removing a covering of ivy (extra) Lovely weather added to a timeless pastoral experience, of walking where many others have gone before.
