Anyone for Tennis?

After three years of waiting we finally had the opportunity to use our tickets at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.   We had Centre Court tickets for what looked like a good line-up.  Unfortunately this is England and grass court tennis in England is subject to the whims of the weather.  As can be seen from today's picture we had rain, not torrential,  not even heavy, but enough to suspend play and cover the court.  What was more annoying was everytime they thought it was OK to take the covers off, it started raining again.

So we saw a set of Britain's Liam Broady versus Finland's Virtanen on Court One where they started to play an hour before Centre Court.  We then took our seats at the first match on Centre Court, Greece's Sakkari, seeded number one, versus Canada's Marino, who won the first set.  Shortly after the rain started, very light but enough to stop play.  We left after a couple of hours, apparently the lost time was about four hours.  In future I think we'll stick with Amazon Prime for our tennis!

We went into the city centre and had tea at a 'fine dining' vegan restaurant recommended to us, No.Twelve at Eldon Chambers.  It was an interesting experience, the menu consisted of tasting dishes, delicious but not much on them and pricey, though I did have a Japanese beer with it.

Back at the Airbnb we watched the final match live on TV.

On a lighter note I spotted this family of Canadian geese on the canal as we were walking home.  I'm not sure why there are three adults. See extras.
