McEwan Hall from George Square

I spent all day Thursday in a meeting on the top floor of Edinburgh University's Business School, a modern building with wraparound glass which afforded us great views of the Edinburgh skyline and Pentland Hills. I was taken with this view of the McEwan Hall on Bristo Square, which is Edinburgh Uni's graduation hall. When I studied at Heriot Watt University, studying marine biology in the 1980s in the then-Chambers Street building (now a courtroom), Heriot Watt also used the Hall for graduation and so this is where I graduated the first time. That day, the ceremony also included the awarding of an Honorary degree to the now-late Edinburgh sculptor and artist Eduardo Paolozzi.
