What's the Buzz? Mountain Laurel!

The very lovely news from the Scotia Barrens is that the Pennsylvania state flower, mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia), has opened, and it is blooming like crazy! The blooms look like icing on a cake, and they come in shades of white and pale pink. They are beloved by the pollinators, as this fuzzy bumbler can attest!
