You Can't Go Home Again...

...at least not with the same expectations....

I woke up this morning thinking it would be fun to drive to Berkeley, go to Peet's, take a walk on my favorite Seaview trail, and maybe go out to lunch. Silly me.

At 8 o'clock on Sunday morning, it only takes an hour, so it wasn't about the drive...

Peet's was a madhouse bustling with activity, but I went in and waited in line, so it wasn't about that...

We didn't see anybody we knew. It might have been a little bit about that (for me anyway)...

The parking lot at the Seaview trail, usually more or less deserted, was as packed as I've ever seen it, but most of the people in the cars seemed to have a destination other than the fire trail, so it wasn't about that...

It was predicted to be 80 degrees today, but it was still pleasant with a little breeze, and beautiful views of San Francisco and the San Pablo Reservoir and Mt. Diablo, so it wasn't about that...

When we got back to the car, I suggested lunch before we headed back. It was DEFINITELY about that...

We headed wordlessly back to Santa Rosa, and although we took the scenic route, we were stuck behind various slow moving vehicles which in turn, caused us to have to stop for every light. It only took us an extra 15 minutes, but that still didn't help...

It seemed like a good idea...

It wasn't.
