Drops on Asiatic Lily Leaf

One of the good aspects of changeable spring weather is that showers are often immediately followed by nice bright sunshine. I've always been fascinated by how perfect are the natural lenses created by water drops Here they are magnifying the veins and markings on an Asiatic Lily leaf. The drop on the left is also refracting the trellis that will soon be a massed profusion of colour from Sweet Peas during the wonderful summer weather that we're going to have. Using my Nikon D300s I merged 3 images as a focus stack, moving forwards by about a millimetre between each picture. This creates a greater depth of field, so more is in focus.
