Lockdown

Woke up this morning to find (a) that the two suspects in the Boston bombing had been identified, and that one was dead and (b) the subway and buses were shut down to aid the capture of suspect number 2. High drama. We were not actually ordered to stay indoors out here in Revere, it was merely requested. "Lockdown" is way over the top. In fact, Mr Lightwave went out to the supermarket, which was open, and got us some eggs for breakfast. There were fewer cars out on the street than usual, but there were some. And plenty of people took the opportunity to go for a walk on the beach. There is a phenomenal amount of public goodwill available to law enforcement officers at the moment, and the citizens of Boston are only too happy to do anything they can to help in the capture of these perpetrators of bloody mayhem.

We were glued to the television all day, couldn't help it.

Once it became clear that the suspect was cornered, we relaxed and went out to dinner. By the time we returned, he was captured, it was all over. Most of us can get back to normal.

The police and law enforcement agencies did a terrific job, but it was not perfect. The orchid is for the innocent persons whose lives were turned upside down in the rush for justice.
