Oddendale

Here Mr P is walking away from the quite impressive double ringed Bronze Age concentric stone circle on the hill above Oddendale. He's walking towards the Seal Howe cairn  on the horizon .  Seal Howe ( see extra) is an old burial mound but stones from the mound have been taken to make a cairn.  We ticked off a couple of other stone circles on a our tour of Ancient Oddendale just east of Shap on an unbelievably windy day to check out a potential route for the Tuesday bunch. And not to forget the five currocks (rock cairns in local dialect) on Hardendale Nab , they were a surprise.
