Big Dave rules the roost. Django is quite cautious and somewhat unsure around Big Dave - which is exactly how BD wants it, I suspect.

Django has already experienced the effect of BD's hefty paw giving him a right good clout across the nose when he's got a bit too close for comfort!

But they are pals.
