A lovely day …

with our friends H and K. A relatively short walk from Grange to the Hospice at Hampsfell, a shelter with commanding views from the top. Back at Grange we have lunch in the park enjoying these bar headed ducks in the daisies, and their goslings. (Featuring again in the extra, bottom left and centre, along with Wood ducks, top left). A quick stop in Cartmel to look at the Priory then we stop at Foulshaw Nature Reserve where we were treated with distant osprey, and some lovely little birds - which included  a first ever good look at a red poll, and a beautiful sisken.
Beautiful damselflies-there’s a red one in the extra, and wild marsh flowers. While we’re there friendly locals tells us about the orchids in the Latterbarrow Reserve only 5 minutes away, so off we go. Butterfly Orchid - another new one to me and common orchid in the extra.
Our friends feed us curry before we come home. We’ve packed a lot in - my ankle has held up
Hope your weekend has been a good one
