Skipness

Every two years we take a trip to the Kintyre peninsula ostensibly to go to our favourite restaurant The Starfish.
Headed off early and decided to go the long way round, driving instead of the usual Dunoon and Portavadie ferries. Lots of West Coast rain but dried up when we reached Tarbert.
Discovered the new Lulabelles and had amazing French Onion soup with Baba ganoush. Chatted about out plans for dinner that night and the waitress was without saying much a bit scathing. Reached out B and B… same sentiments… don’t pay their staff, people walking out, menu rubbish. So we looked up trip advisor and realised it was under new management and the reviews were shocking. BOO Hiss BOO!
So we mulled over what to do as we drove down to Skipness for a lovely walk along the beach and explored the castle which is in remarkable condition . Pencilled it in for an emergency sleepover if ever caught short with nowhere to stay.
Cracking moody views across to Arran as the weather flummoxed about .
Decided we’d rather take a chance back at Lulabelles rather than potentially waste a lot of money on a mediocre menu and bad service so dingied The Starfish :(
Not disappoint.
Aperols and a seafood platter hit the mark. With lots of chat with the locals.
Back to the B and B which is best described as eccentric with rather weird puppets everywhere, decor your bad taste granny would be proud of and the most out and proud gay owners.
We scurried up to our room to binge in Everything you want to know about Love on iplayer. Fabulous stuff go watch!
