today I went to a funeral for my uncle, it was a sad occasion not just for the loss, that too, but also the mixed memories it conjured up. funerals seem to concentrate past losses. but it is done now and we have all now marked his passing and celebrated his life.

as a kind of way to clear my thoughts I decided to get out somewhere different and take a stroll, this was taken from the impressive new pier at Southport.
