Bulrushes

These light mornings are certainly getting me up early  which was fortuitous this morning as I had an early appointment for a blood test.  Great to do a bit of SM shopping early too.  It was coolish first thing so I stayed in and did some cooking: Soup, fish pie and a cake.  Making a Pavlova case later to be filled for supper tomorrow.  Friends are joining us after we've been to the cinema to see 'Top Gun' - can't believe I saw the first one in 1986.  Mr HB and friend's husband (also a pilot) are very excited!  

The sun came out a little in the afternoon so I went for a stroll along the canal, no wildlife to be seen but the bulrushes in the overspill caught my eye.
