Coulters Dean, West Sussex

A wild flower meadow that hasn’t been ploughed for over one hundred years. It is grazed by sheep in the winter.

The top yellow flower is a helianthemum nummularium.

The second photo is a six-spot burnet moth on bird’s-foot trefoil.

The field photo is showing the common spotted orchid which is the most prolific orchid there.

According to the sign there are ten different types of orchid there. We found four.
