The last cabbage

Doesn't it look sad!  Fresh greens are in very low supply right now in Oz.  In fact, Coles' shelves looked just as bad.  The only place that had plenty of stock was the very good independent greengrocer - wherein I spend quite a lot of money buying provisions to last a few days.

Anyway, yes I did buy the cabbage - and I shall shred some of it with some carrot and celeriac and make a delicious slaw to accompany our Ottolenghi stuffed potatoes.

On a slightly related matter - here's another of life's imponderables.  Why do I have to go to four separate supermarkets to buy the provisions I need.  Why can't the same place stock everything, I ask myself.
