Wakey, Wakey Little Bee

Sometimes on coolish mornings I take a walk in the garden to see if I can spot any sleeping bees.  This one had fallen asleep on an iris petal. I sat on the edge of the raised bed and waited.  Soon, the warm sun woke him up and he spent a few moments on his morning ablutions before he flew off to start his day of pollen gathering.  Occasionally, a bee will not wake up, his short life at the end.  In that case I give him a proper burial in the garden.  Who says retire people have no job!
