Swelling

The grapes on the vine in the conservatory are swelling nicely.

The first little shoot appears sometime in late February or early March and from then on growth accelerates day by day until by now we are cutting back every fortnight or so to keep the greenery in check.

The flowers start to fertilise in April and a few weeks from now the grapes themselves wills start to turn black.   By the end of July we will be eating them, and worrying about a glut !
