Loquats, or Japanese plums, are on sale in the shops but also flourishing on trees in many gardens. Not mine, sadly, but I’m going to plant some of the huge seeds and hope for the best, although it may take 8 years to become small trees. The fruits taste great, are sweet and have many health benefits, and the tortoises love them even more than tomatoes.
