Not a heat wave in sight...

With all the radio and tv coverage of a heat wave, it might come as a surprise to some to know that the west of Scotland - particularly above the central belt - has been largely cloudy all week.

Yesterday there was a glimpse of sun in the afternoon but today has been, after a very wet start , overcast again with mist on the hills.     More rain is forecast for tonight and then it will get breezy once more.

Even so there are good spots in which to get out and about including this little nature reserve at the top of the Holy Loch.   It lies right beside the main road out of Dunoon  but doesn't feel like it.
