Male Brown Argus

I slept the whole night and was wide awake around 7 a.m. and debated whether to go out for a walk.  I am so glad I did, because it was still warm enough for just a tee-shirt (and trousers of course) and it was quiet.

I walked around the first playing field, the pond and second playing field before trespassing around the wheat field where I spotted this very tiny, fingernail size, Brown Argus butterfly.

It has been blisteringly hot and even now at gone 7.30 p.m. it's unpleasant indoors, so I might just go and lap up some shade in the garden.

JJ has spent the day painting some of the garden fencing, as well as hanging over the gate talking to a neighbour.  In this heat, REALLY?

The tennis has been good.
