Pinnacles and pom-poms

A long hot walk along the coast.
It started badly because Raki scampered all the way down to the beach, which I was intending to by-pass, in order to check out the picnic crumbs and barbeque grease among the shingle. I could see her running around below but she wouldn't  obey my shouted commands and I had to go all the way down to retrieve her. Later on she felt the need to cool off in a stream, unusual for her as she normally avoids water.

Foxgloves, wild roses, elderflowers are in bloom now and I also saw my first yarrow and yellow toadflax of high summer but my eye was caught mainly by this display of navelwort and scabious beside the path above the stream where Raki bathed her belly.
