Bell House and garden…

Big Sis and I had a wonderful afternoon here at a garden party to celebrate 25years of Fine Cell Work and enjoy the garden and also the work of Quilt Academy.

“Fine Cell Work is a charity and social enterprise which teaches prisoners to stitch beautiful handmade products as a means of rehabilitation. Our unique products have been designed in collaboration with some of the country’s leading contemporary designers and are all hand- produced in limited editions.”

We listened to those who work with the stitchers, mostly males, and saw some amazing commissioned quilts, my extra, which took over two years to complete and gave the stitcher back a sense of pride in himself, his self-esteem and self-worth.

A wonderful afternoon and a garden to aspire to. Plenty of small spaces to sit and enjoy the plants, and for quiet times.

A site worth visiting
