Corellas, Nelson Bay

Nelson Bay, North of both Sydney and Newcastle, is the last stop on our holiday before we head home on Tuesday. It's on a peninsula which has several bays, beaches and headlands which we will explore tomorrow.

Walking along the waterfront this afternoon I saw a large flock of corellas on the beach and its rocks. They appeared to be displacing the seagulls who were relieved when the corellas finally flocked off.

The pair in the main seemed to be parent and young as one was feeding the other. They spent a long time putting on a show with their wing work. They are after all parrots and they like a bit of fun. Do check out the extras where they are doing more of their thing.
