Mike's Bather

This is the double rock formation that Mike refers to as the Bather (you can see them all, if you´re interested, from the tag), which he uses as a marker as to water levels in the Lake because we can see it from the causeway we drive over to get to Reguengos. We´ve seen it totally under water for months - if you compare this Blip, taken in June last year, you can see how dry this year has been.

Here he´s investigating whether he can do a repeat of the Blip with Paul in March, but decided against it - the rocks are much higher now. We kayaked out quite late, this was taken about 8pm, the wind was fairly strong and the waves as choppy as I´ve been in - got thoroughly wet and almost cold.

Mourão’s castle on the hill in the background.

Gratefuls:
- the lovely deacon taking the church service this morning
- Dan and Mireille treating us to a great Sunday lunch at Corte Velha in Amareleja, about halfway between them and us
- making arrangements for the next few days, involving a lot of WhatsApping
