Chicory

As a very pleasant surprise, it rained last night.  And as a double surprise it stayed cloudy all day.

When I went into my office at 7 am, it was 25.9°C.

Too hot.  I opened 2 windows to let that cooling breeze flow through and watched the thermometer hoping to see it fall to wished for 21 or 22°C.

4 and a half hours later it was 25.7°C.  That's not cool at all.  Just before 4 pm it is currently 24.7°C and that feels OK.  I don't need a pullover or to have the fan running, it's just pleasant.

Also pleasant and quite funny was a delivery today.  My company is celebrating 100 years of being in business and has been sporadically sending us little "Jubiläum"* presents.  All of which is quite nice.  It's a company in the financial sector - lots of pensions, insurance policies and thousands of other things and is by its very nature - quite reserved and conservative.  What did it send us today?  Well, it was something to wear.  Not a t-shirt but a Hoodie.

Now as you know I'm no longer in that first flush of youth where a hoodie might be an acceptable thing to wear.  It is not a thing i would ever consider wearing outside.  Especially not in Summer.

It seems quite an odd thing to choose.  On the plus side, it'll be cosy in winter and it has 2 pockets.  And I will never wear it outdoors.

Good luck pronouncing that - click on the loudspeaker to the right of the word and you'll hear someone saying it.  Not me.
