'Cezanne'

I bought this Clematis in July 2020 from a 'bargain bench' at a garden centre over in West Sussex. It was in flower - just - and was lucky to have survived the Spring 2020 'lockdown' which meant all garden centres had had to close.

We thought we'd lost it over the winter of 2020-21, but then I discovered the root ball while weeding, and transplanted it to a dryer, shadier part of the garden.

There was nothing to show last year except a tiny bit of foliage, but come this spring, we were impressed when it started sprouting again, and now this is the result!
