Wild Orchids

I am very interested in finding Orchids and was thrilled when a Bee Orchid appeared in my garden recently. These are Pyramid Orchids (Anacamptis) that I look for every year at my local cemetery.
I was disappointed/upset/annoyed to discover that the Council recently cut back a grass verge where these grow in abundance. Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, they are protected and so I am building up to sending an irate email. Too late for this year but I shall be looking out this time next year!!
