Sissinghurst castle tower

I’ve had a beautiful day here today. The sun has shone all day, the gardens are surely at their best and we found a lovely, quiet spot for our picnic lunch.

My friend, the mother of our four young friends, decided we needed a girls’ day out and it’s been great. We arrived as the property opened and left as it closed.

“Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicholson bought Sissinghurst Castle in 1930 and started creating their home amongst a now world -famous garden, at the heart of the wooded estate.” A beautiful National Trust property. This tower was once the centre of the Sissinghurst estate and the views from the top are amazing.

A day of many gratefuls, with thoughts of friends throughout.
