Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens

We had a free morning so Rose took us to these wonderful Botanical Gardens.  A real treat and we only had time to see about one quarter of it. These birds are a wattled lapwing, a blacksmith lapwing - both have managed to find a snack to eat.  Below we have the White bellied sunbird on the yellow aloe and a mousebird on the red.
We also saw a pair of black, verreaux eagles who have a nest on the cliffs there with one visible chick. They were all a long way away - too far for this lens, but still lovely to see!
A wonderful morning - coffee and scones were involved half way through before we came back for Terrifo to pack and be taken to the Gautrain which  will get her to Oliver Tambo Airport for her flight home.
My sister and I will head back to the farm tomorrow early for a few days of peace before my son and his family arrive for the next adventures!
