Crested Grebe

I can’t believe it’s the Solstice again ! The year is flying by!

We always like to see the crested grebe on the lakes at Sherborne Castle - truly magnificent. They usually build in almost the same spot each year .

The pyramidal orchids were profuse there too .

It no longer has Heaney refreshments there but we sat under a huge beech tree in the heat.

S has arrived in Manchester safely, by coach not train because of the strike . He’s set up in the Britannia Hotel in the centre . I’m hoping he settles well into the job he will be doing for the next two weeks .
