Not entirely the whole story

We found this textbook in Auldearn Antiques, Chapter 1, page 1, covering Lesson 1 of your evening classes studying for your Institute of Bankers exams in 1961.

It sort of defines the minimum functions of branch banking, but there's no mention of currency speculation, money laundering, offshore tax evasion, or inventing dodgy instruments to bring down the entire global financial system. Which, having been achieved, qualifies you to be a Government Minister.
