Meet Charlie

I met Charlie today. He's a professional artist. I had a peek in the back of his van where he had six or seven more large canvases, all part finished, of this same view.

He explained to me how he adapts the oil paints he buys so that they last for many decades on the canvas without discolouring or cracking. The pic top left is of the oils he's preparing for use today. The larger pic is Charlie getting one of his canvases set up ready to use the oils.

The view he paints again and again is one I've photographed quite a few times, most recently blipped HERE.

He does paint other subjects too, though this view is probably the most sellable!
