Escapees

Along the shore there are all sorts of different flowers growing. I came across this big clump of Martagon lilies. It was the smell that I noticed first, I must admit! It's very strong and not particularly attractive! They are beautiful though. 

Lottie and I sat and watched a seal and some eiders and their chicks and then saw the shelduck family. We've been watching them since the seven tiny chicks first appeared, and amazingly there are still seven of them! A great result after last year, when only one of the nine babies made it.
