Winter tree shadows

Today's been the coldest morning start so far this winter. I'm glad that I got frost cloth over the lemon tree last night. The temperature dropped well below zero. There's sure to be frost damage elsewhere in the garden but I haven't seen it in daylight yet.

My lunchtime walk took me along the edge of the botanical gardens. I've included an extra photo showing the super early cheer on the river bank. I bet it's in shock now.
