Broad-bodied Chaser

Day #20 of #30dayswild. A morning walk round the garden where I noted the Marsh Woundwort is now in bloom - such beautifully marked flowers. And I spotted two solitary bees sharing an Ox-eye Daisy flower - little and large - one of the Yellow-faced Bees and  a Davie's Colletes.

The afternoon was spent  recording even more quadrats at Castor Hanglands NNR, where both the Common Valerian and Dropwort are making a fine show. One day I'll have to tot up how many I've done this year!!

I also found a fully-grown Drinker caterpillar in one of my samples and spotted a very smart male Broad-bodied Chaser on one of the ponds.
