Lacecap Hydrangea

Hydrangeas like us require plenty of water in hot weather. Today has been a real scorcher, with not a cloud in the sky. This lacecap hydrangea is planted in a pot in a sheltered, sunny position and is watered almost daily at the moment when the weather is dry. I took this photo this morning whilst the hydrangea was still in the shade.I think something must have been taking a nibble at the flowers but I thought they still made a nice blip. The colours are quite stunning and have not been enhanced in any way. Whilst I was taking a photo a small tortoiseshell butterfly alighted on the flowers of the margerite, but I did not manage a photo of that one!
