Library Light Sculpture

The central library at my university is 9 floors high and perched on a hill side, therefore gives beautiful views of the harbour and city.

This photo however was taken from inside the building on level 0, which is two levels below the entrance. In the stairwell of the library there is a light sculpture which aside from looking good, I have to assume also stops people throwing themselves down the long drop.

This sculpture type thing is basically like someone put a clear plastic pipe which goes from level 9 to level 0 and then shone high powered spot lights at either end, it looks pretty cool to be honest and this photo was taken looking up towards the 9th level.
