Borris Viaduct

I have always wanted to see a viaduct so today it was off to a town called Borris. It was built in 1860 and the railway line closed in 1964. There are 16 arches.
Way back when, my ancestors were involved in the early days of the railways (albeit in County Durham) and as I stood there admiring the sheer magnificence of the arches I couldn't help wondering if my ancestors had been involved in this sort of thing.
Obviously, being English, The name Borris just made me titter. The was a sign saying 'Keep Borris Tidy' - well, he could do with a hair cut and a better fitting suit!
