Visit To The Herriot Country Estate.

Following on from Alan Herriot’s recent visit to our place, we enjoyed a visit to Alan’s Home and Studio surrounded by East Lothian countryside.

Having looked at the predicted travel times to Edinburgh which had lengthened dramatically as a side effect of the Railway Industrial Action we dropped plans to go into town.

Delaying our time of departure made all the difference, and we had a fine journey. Of course, a visit to Costco was easily included in our route.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I could have taken many photos, but restricted myself to just one.

If you have visited Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse you will recognise this sculpture of Pan.

The original sculpture resides in the house having been taken on an illegal journey to London.

Alan was commissioned to make a replica which now graces Mrs Sharp’s Rose Garden.

Today’s entry shows Alan’s prototype version which resides in The Policies of the Herriot Country Estate.
