What a day!!

I had an amazing blipmeet with my dear friend Paola at, a local heathland nature reserve. We had such great fun just looking for wildlife - there was so much to find!!
Anyway I took my sweep net with me hopeful I might sweep the Heather Crab Spider (Thomisus onustus) from the Bell Heather. Although I didn’t have much hope as I have been trying unsuccessfully for years. Then, there it was in the net, first sweep!! I was in shock, and better than that she had a tiny male with her Wow!!!!
It was just a perfect day - I have added a shot of the bumble Bee mimic hoverfly Volucella bombylans in my extras , and a shot of the beautiful little ‘mug rug’ Paola made for me it is perfect :-)
