White rose

Small flowered white rose in a semi-wild hedge. Blooms are about 5 cm across. Bush 1m tall and across. Not a Scotch rose, nor a Burnet rose .. Suggestions, anyone ?

Early swim; pool much quieter at 08.00 than 09.00, so will repeat that experiment.

Update: having been to Malleny, this rose looks like a rambler, perhaps Rambling Rector.

Blipper lovenature mentioned Craiglockhart pond, so we walked down the canal to it, after wandering around the Meggatland sports complex (home of Tynecastle football club and Boroughmuir rugby club). A pair of swans with six cygnets in residence. A number 27 bus back up Colinton Road.
