Matariki Fireworks

More celebrations today by the lakeside, finishing with fireworks. It was fun.
We started the day walking part of the Millenium Track (extra). Late afternoon, we went down to the lake where there were tents to acknowledge each Matariki star, entertainment and many activities for children. They were cooking a hangi as well. 
One tent was to remember those who had died in the last 12 months - so I lit some candles for the people I wanted to acknowledge and placed them in one of the bays. A really nice idea.

At 6.30 there were 10 minutes of fireworks to complete the celebration. They were super.

Now home in front of the fire and going to watch some more of the Mountain Film Festival on line.
